A Contemporary Farmhouse Residence
4 Bedrooms · 3 Living Zones

A Study in Refined Warmth

Project Thurling is a nuanced exploration of modern farmhouse architecture, reinterpreted through a lens of quiet luxury and material integrity. The residence balances bold architectural form with interiors that feel deeply grounded and intentionally restrained.

Defined by crisp white cladding and striking black-framed glazing, the exterior establishes a confident presence. Internally, this clarity transitions into a softened composition of oak, stone, linen, and sculptural lighting — each element selected for longevity rather than trend.

This is a home designed not only to be seen, but to be experienced.

The Design Philosophy

The brief was clear: create a refined family residence that felt warm without excess, elevated without austerity, and cohesive across multiple living zones.

Our approach centred on material harmony.

Texture replaces ornamentation.
Tone replaces contrast.
Light replaces embellishment.
The result is a residence where every surface contributes to a quiet, immersive atmosphere.

Living Environments

The primary living space is anchored by tailored neutral upholstery, layered with boucle and pure linen. Natural oak joinery introduces warmth, while matte black accents reference the architectural framing.

Generous glazing allows natural light to animate the material palette throughout the day — shifting shadows across textured surfaces and creating subtle depth within an otherwise restrained scheme.

Secondary living areas maintain continuity through repetition of finish and tone, ensuring visual cohesion while offering relaxed functionality for family life.

Kitchen & Dining

The kitchen is conceived as a sculptural centrepiece.

Timber veneer cabinetry grounds the space, contrasted by honed natural stone surfaces that reflect light with quiet softness. Aged bronze hardware introduces warmth and tactility, reinforcing the material narrative without overpowering it.

The adjoining dining space is intentionally understated — a solid timber table beneath statement lighting, styled minimally to allow materiality and proportion to take precedence.

The Master Suite

The master retreat is a study in restraint and comfort.

Layered in oat, greige, and muted clay undertones, the space is enveloping yet refined. Upholstered textures, sheer drapery, and considered lighting cultivate an atmosphere of calm permanence.

It is less a bedroom, more a private sanctuary within the home.

Enduring Design

Project Thurling reflects our belief that true luxury lies in material honesty, proportion, and restraint. It is a residence shaped by atmosphere rather than excess — a modern farmhouse elevated through subtlety and craft.

Timeless. Considered. Enduring.
